Welcome Candidates! Today is the release for versions 0.3.17 Free, 0.3.17 Supporter and 0.3.18 Supporter, depending on your patronage level. Version 0.3.18 brings a new story event where you get intimate with another Candidate after being invited to spend the night in their room, and brings a few new romantic actions. You can check their changelogs here and here.

The focus of this post, however, is animations. We've finally finished the most important work to implement animations, and these will be coming into the game as they get drawn, animated, turned into pixels and registered in the code. All of this is involves tons of hard work, and the best way to ensure the new animations come as fast as possible is to support us on Patreon so that Chily Cherry can put more hours into the game.

As the system works right now, every new turn in sex scenes, the game will look for the first continued actions that has valid animation data, and will get the appropriate sprites for the characters involved in the act. For instance, if a scene had Padmiri, the player, Claw and Valtan, with the first two engaging in oral sex and the second pair doing cowgirl penetration, the game will skip Padmiri and the player, and instead show Claw and Valtan, since the continued action of the first two doesn't have the required sprite data, but there are sprites for cowgirl penetration. Once Claw and Valtan have been selected to be displayed, the game will pass a few checks (does this character have a dick? Does this character have breasts or a more masculine chest?), and select the most accurate bodypart sprites possible.

Most characters will be shown as generic, gray-shaped people at first, and once the most important base animations are in place, these placeholders will slowly be replaced by their proper counter-parts. As of this moment, you have to select a sprites set during the personal room menu so that your character doesn't appear as a gray shape.

You can disable animations altogether at the settings menu, or simply hide them temporarily in the middle of scenes.
