What is to be done when the limits of knowledge encroach on the borders of that which is sacred? How is one meant to remain still when the myths respected by everyone suddenly lay naked, and their ugly cracks are exposed to your eyes? Should you remain silent when the work of your whole life culminates in the power to manipulate the very fabric of life, if such notion was deemed threatening by all nations across the world?

Unholy Arts: Origin is a short story following the life of a daring and enlightened witch who finds herself in such a position, and the dangers, pain and tragedy that follow from using that power.

Without getting into any spoilers, plenty of characters through the story suffer a very fair bit. In general, you probably don't want to read it if you're at a shaky emotional point.

- Is this just a lore dump?
It isn't not a lore dump, but it's also not just a lore dump. It has plots, themes and characters! Some of those characters might even be named!

- How does this story relate to Unholy Arts?
Unholy Arts: Origin is a self-contained prequel. You don't need to know about Unholy Arts to enjoy it, even if Origin sheds light on the other story.

- Any chance of resuming the development of Unholy Arts?
No. Its scope was far too large for its own good, so writing this story was my way to make peace with having to abandon that project. Hopefully, the fans of the game will also appreciate the gesture.

Unholy Arts was censored by payment processors Mastercard and Visa in their coordinated effort to remove and marginalize as much art that contains adult content as possible, so it was delisted from Itch along with thousands of games.
